Hello, my name is John.
With a lifetime of experience and years of dedication to my craft, my journey into glass engraving began with a thoughtful gift from my first wife—a hand-engraved tumbler for my birthday. Inspired by the intricacy of the work, I set out to create my own engravings. My first tool was a simple pen fitted with a tungsten bit. Later, after a conversation with my dentist, I experimented with diamond-tipped drill bits, which were more effective for glasswork. Yet, I quickly learned that true precision comes from a steady hand and years of practice.
As I matured as an engraver, I studied the work of master craftsmen and tested various powered drills. Eventually, I upgraded to a variable-speed Dremel, which allowed me to enhance both the detail and quality of my pieces. My early works focused on picture frames, with occasional forays into engraving tumblers and vases.
The real evolution came when I invested in a high-speed dental drill, capable of reaching up to 35,000 RPM. This advancement, paired with LED-lit display stands, enabled me to bring my glass engravings to life in new and exciting ways. Each piece now takes up to three hours to complete, a reflection of decades of passion, experience, and meticulous handcrafting that I’ve honed over many years.
